2018 got off to a fast start at the annual National Business Aviation Association’s Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference February 6-9, where Savoya’s Travel Safety Challenge won rave reviews from event participants who stopped by to test their knowledge at the Savoya booth. An interactive trivia game designed to drive awareness and education around common risks faced by travelers, the game allowed conference visitors to compete against each other and learn some new best practices at the same time.
Each contestant also received a card with safety tips for conference attendees and a pedestrian’s map of the Long Beach Convention Center area to help them stay safe while in town. “The Travel Safety Challenge was a fun icebreaker for attendees here at S&D and a great way to get people talking about risks and how to avoid them. It’s so easy to take personal safety for granted and fall into the ‘been there done that’ trap that frequent travelers and travel planners face over time,” noted McKenna Michel, Savoya’s EVP of Marketing Strategy. “Keeping travelers safe is at the heart of what Savoya does, so it was exciting to give our team members an opportunity to share some of their knowledge and expertise – around travel topics broadly, not just ground transportation – with show attendees in a new way.”
As a member of the NBAA Leadership Council, Savoya and its parent company, Travel Research Advisors, have long been active participants in NBAA, the Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference, and the business aviation community more broadly. Representing Savoya at the show was a strong mix of Client Care professionals from each team, sales directors, and executive team members. NBAA raised the bar this year with over 2900 attendees, more than 550 exhibitors on the sold out exhibit floor, and a total of 20 people winning training or monetary scholarships for continuing education. Next year’s event will take place in San Antonio, TX, from January 29 through February 1, 2019.
