ROBERT DOBRIENT

Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Dobrient has focused his career on refining the movement of people and materials from one location to another smoothly and seamlessly. After leading a time-critical delivery and logistics company for over a decade, he recognized the need for an elevated ground travel experience and launched Savoya. Building on this expertise, he currently serves as Chairman of Travel Research Advisors, the parent company of Savoya and two related entities in the travel space.

Prior to establishing Savoya in 2000, Mr. Dobrient was co-founder and President of Max America, a same-day delivery and logistics firm that won Inc. “500” honors three consecutive years in the early 1990s. In 1997, he lead the acquisition of Max America by publicly held Dynamex Inc. – a leading consolidator in the mission-critical distribution industry.

Mr. Dobrient is a Director at Triumph Bancorp (TBK: NASDAQ), a bank holding company based in Dallas, Texas. He is a Director at Grand Junction, a Software-as-a-Service platform that manages couriers and local delivery programs. He is also a Director at MealTicket, a provider of cloud-based sales, marketing and analytics software for the food distribution industry.

Mr. Dobrient received a BBA from University of North Texas. He serves as a mentor and board member at Mercy Street, a program serving inner-city youths and their families. Mr. Dobrient resides in Dallas with his wife and two daughters.

MEAGAN GLEASON

Executive Vice President, Process Improvement

As Savoya’s longest tenured employee next to Mr. Dobrient, Ms. Gleason knows the nuances of our company better than anyone. In her nearly 15 years with Savoya, she has held practically every role and has been instrumental in shaping our processes, internal teams, service platforms, and client and vendor relationships. Today, Ms. Gleason is one of the thought leaders in the ground transportation industry.

Ms. Gleason started as a frontline employee on our logistics team. From there she helped build Savoya’s Event Management capabilities, designing a system for managing travel logistics and software that helped scale that business into the platform that ultimately became Savoya’s Meetings & Events organization.

She then spent time on our Fleet Management team, where she defined and rolled out a formal vendor relations process that set the foundation for the modern Savoya. In just two years, she not only doubled the number of markets served, but established guardrails on service and safety standards and performance metric reporting.

Meagan has been responsible for leading the transformation of Savoya’s technology infrastructure and capabilities – establishing an internal development team, overseeing development and launching our custom-built, state-of-the-art Savoya CORE platform. Under her leadership, the team continues to unveil new features and client tools on a weekly basis.

Since 2014, with Ms. Gleason leading Savoya’s operations and client care teams, performance improvement initiatives have consistently driven our service deviation rate to less than 0.5%.

TOM SHARPE

Executive Vice President, Strategic Development

A veteran of the United States Navy, Mr. Sharpe brings unique skills and perspective to Savoya. With extensive experience in corporate operations, finance, and communications, Mr. Sharpe oversees Savoya’s business expansion efforts and manages its support functions.

Mr. Sharpe came to Savoya from Watermark Community Church in Dallas, where he served as the Director of Operations. His team provided multiple support functions for the 180-person staff in their service of over 15,000 members.  He was also a partner at E2M Partners, a Dallas-based private equity firm focused on commercial real estate investment, where he oversaw over $250MM in transactions.  He also guided the firm’s efforts to manage, restructure and monetize investments after the unexpected death of a founding partner.

Mr. Sharpe also worked for Bank One Corporation as a vice president in the Planning, Reporting and Analysis division, and spent time at J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. in the mid-corporate Investment Banking group where he provided advisory and capital-raising services to commercial banking clients.

Mr. Sharpe received his BS from Stanford University and his MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business where he graduated as a Fuqua Scholar. He was recently elected to the Highland Park ISD School Board and resides in Dallas, TX with his wife and three children.

MCKENNA MICHEL

Senior Vice President, Marketing

In her role, Ms. Michel is responsible for elevating the Savoya brand, driving top-of-mind awareness among a more diverse client base, and positioning the company as an innovative thought leader in its market. She brought rich experience in marketing, branding, and corporate strategy across both B2B and consumer businesses when she joined the Savoya team in 2016.

Ms. Michel began her career as a strategic management consultant at McKinsey & Company and R.B. Webber and Company. She honed her marketing expertise at Frito Lay North America, serving in multiple positions, most recently as a Marketing Director leading the company’s Premium Snacks Portfolio – a joint initiative aligning growth strategies across brands and distribution platforms. She was also responsible for a $1.2B book of business that included turnaround efforts for the SunChips and Oven Baked brands.  

Ms. Michel earned her MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and her Bachelor’s degree with Interdisciplinary Honors from Stanford University.

ROBYN SCHIMMELS

Senior Vice President, Sales & Client Experience

Ms. Schimmels’ extensive customer service experience has proven invaluable over her eleven years at Savoya. After working in the service industry prior to joining the Company in 2006, Robyn has spearheaded a series of growth initiatives and been a leading architect of Savoya’s legendary service delivery model.

Ms. Schimmels also began her career at Savoya in logistics, where she learned firsthand about clients’ needs and unique requirements. She took on leadership of the Meetings & Events team not long after, building out the meetings portion of that business by developing a customized solution for smaller groups and growing that business exponentially during her time on the team.

Ms. Schimmels then shifted her focus to Sales, where her industry knowledge, consultative approach, and ability to build relationships served her well. After some years as the top-performing sales agent, she was promoted to lead the Sales Team, where she established an Account Management function, optimized the sales process, and led the adoption and integration of key sales software tools.

Today, Ms. Schimmels continues to craft innovation in client experience, deepen client relationships and enhance Savoya’s service offerings. She received a BA with Honors in Psychology from Southern Methodist University. She and her husband stay busy as the proud parents of three children under age 5.
